The NDRC and the DTI jointly held the China-South Africa Capacity Cooperation Key Projects Coordination Meeting for South African Energy Metallurgical

During the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in September in Beijing this year, the National Development and Reform Commission(NDRC) of China and the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) of South Africa signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Promoting Key Projects for Capacity Cooperation, and identified the first batch of key projects for China-South Africa capacity cooperation . In order to facilitate the project development, the NDRC and the DTI jointly held the China-South Africa Capacity Cooperation Key Projects Coordination Meeting for South African Energy Metallurgical SEZ, to study the progress of the projects and existing issues, and to give guidance on steps forward in order to concrete the outcomes from the state visits made by the leaders of the two countries.

The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Wang Jianjun, Director General of the Foreign Investment Division of the NDRC, and Mr. Sipho Zikode, Deputy Director General of the DTI. Representatives from China Development Bank, South African Energy Metallurgy Base Ltd. (SEZ Operator), China Huadian, PowerChina, MCC, TISCO, CCCC and HODO attended the meeting and discussed the progress and work plan of the SEZ projects in detail.
