EMSEZ delegation visit to JISCO

On July 10, 2020, South African Energy Metallurgy Base(Pty)Ltd. (EMSEZ Operator) organized a SEZ delegation team to Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd(JISCO) to have a EMSEZ project roadshow, aiming at accelerating the implementation of key project of production capacity cooperation in the MOU signed by the governments of China and South Africa.

A total of 20 representatives and technical experts from JISCO, SAEMB, PowerChina-Henan Electric Power Survey & Design Institute, Shaanxi CEI Investment Holdings Co., Ltd, Tengy group and Gansu Ningshi Industrial Co., Ltd attended the SEZ Project Roadshow. The participants had full exchange and discussion with the executives and technical experts of JISCO. The EMSEZ Operator introduced the progress of the SEZ, coking coal project, chrome mine project, manganese mine project, vanadium titanium magnetite project, magnesite project, etc. PowerChina-Henan Electric Power Survey & Design Institute introduced the EMSEZ power plant project and South Africa emission standards. Mr.Bai Yunlong, chief engineer of Shaanxi CEI Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. introduced the comprehensive utilization of South Africa vanadium titanium magnetite project. Mr.Wang Minghua, President of Hydrogen Metallurgy Research Institute of JISCO, introduced the status of vanadium titanium magnetite ore hydrogen smelting test, that they have overcome the technical problems in the vanadium titanium magnetite ore smelting.

Mr. Wei Zhibin, deputy secretary of the Party committee and general manager of JISCO, made a summary of the meeting: JISCO fully affirmed the resources and policy advantages of South African Energy Metallurgy SEZ, and hoped that the EMSEZ and JISCO could join hands to cooperate and seek for common development.

After the roadshow, the executives of JISCO accompanied EMSEZ delegations to visit the production workshops and factory area of JISCO.
